Foreign Tourist Arrivals: India's tourism sector contributed 5 per cent to the GDP in 2022-23. 9.52 million foreign tourists visited India in 2023. Leisure and recreation tourists made up 46.2 per cent of arrivals. The Indian diaspora accounted for 26.9 per cent of arrivals. The government offers e-medical visas to 167 countries. No studies have analyzed the impact of airfares on domestic tourism.
